This balisong takes the Doppler finish, built by swirling black and silver metallic paints through a marbleizing medium and locking them under a candy coat. Phase 4 identifies one particular color spread within the Doppler family, distinguishing it from the other phases that share the same technique.

Doppler phases
Doppler and Gamma Doppler are split into phases. Standard Doppler has Phase 1–4 plus the rare Ruby (red), Sapphire (blue) and Black Pearl. Gamma Doppler adds Emerald as its top phase.
The phase is part of the item and changes both the look and the value — Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Black Pearl trade well above the numbered phases. On this page the phase is shown in the name and selectable where variants exist.
