There is no widely used English nickname; Russian players simply call it пулемёт (machine gun).

The M249 O.S.I.P.R. is the model's signature skin, a Half-Life reference (the Overwatch Standard Issue Pulse Rifle) plastered across the receiver, and the one most collectors recognize. M249 Nebula Crusader is the showpiece high-rarity finish, a deep galaxy-and-knight motif that is the closest the gun has to a flagship Covert look. Other recognizable finishes include M249 Aztec, M249 Spectre, M249 System Lock, M249 Emerald Poison Dart, M249 Gator Mesh, M249 Impact Drill and M249 Downtown.
