CS2 Doppler Skins
29 skinsDoppler and Gamma Doppler come in phases that change the colour and the price. Standard Doppler has Phase 1 to 4 plus rare Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl; Gamma Doppler adds Emerald.
Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Black Pearl trade well above the numbered phases. Open a Doppler to pick a phase and compare prices across markets.

Why the phase is set by the seed, not the wear
Doppler and Gamma Doppler are knife finishes, and the phase is fixed by the item's paint seed at creation, so it never changes and has nothing to do with float or exterior. Because the finish uses a capped wear range, these knives only exist in Factory New and Minimal Wear, and even a Minimal Wear example usually looks pristine. Two knives can share the same phase yet differ in how the colors land on the blade, which is why collectors compare individual patterns within a single phase.
Reading the numbered phases by colour
Standard Doppler runs Phase 1 through Phase 4. Phase 1 is the darkest, mixing black and deep blue with streaks of pink; Phase 2 is the pink and magenta look often called the pink galaxy; Phase 3 leans blue with copper or bronze accents; Phase 4 is mostly black with blue and is sometimes treated as a budget stand-in for Black Pearl. Gamma Doppler swaps those palettes for greens, where Phase 1 shows the deepest near-emerald green and the higher phases trend toward lighter or yellower green and black.
The rare specials above the numbered phases
Each family has special phases that replace the marbled look with a near-solid color. Standard Doppler can roll Ruby (deep solid red), Sapphire (deep solid blue), or Black Pearl (a dark, almost-black blade with a pearlescent swirl). Gamma Doppler has one special, Emerald, a deep solid green. These are far scarcer than any numbered phase and are the main reason Doppler knives carry such a wide price spread.
Why the price gap between phases is so wide
The rare specials sell for multiples of the numbered phases, and Sapphire is generally the most expensive standard rare, followed by Ruby, with Black Pearl usually a step below those two. Among numbered phases, demand lifts certain looks, such as Phase 2 for its pink galaxy and Gamma Phase 1 for its deep green. Knife model matters as much as the phase, so a Karambit or Butterfly in a given phase commands far more than the same phase on a cheaper blade.
Confirm the phase tag before you buy
Steam's item name does not list the phase, so a listing that only says Doppler tells you nothing about which one you are getting. Check the inspect link with a pattern checker, or buy from a marketplace that explicitly tags the phase, and match the screenshot to the colors above. This matters most when separating Phase 4 from a genuine Black Pearl, or confirming a real Ruby or Sapphire, since the price difference is large.
How Doppler differs from Marble Fade
Marble Fade is a single fixed palette of red, blue and yellow, and the seed only changes how those three colors are arranged on the blade, producing named patterns like Fire and Ice rather than distinct phases. Doppler instead splits into separate phases, each with its own color scheme plus the rare solid-color specials. So with Marble Fade you chase a pattern within one look, while with Doppler you first pick a phase and then a pattern within it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Doppler and Gamma Doppler?
They are the same style of knife finish in different color families. Standard Doppler uses blues, blacks, pinks and reds and can roll Ruby, Sapphire or Black Pearl, while Gamma Doppler uses greens and has Emerald as its only rare special.
Which Doppler phase is the most valuable?
The rare specials are worth the most, with Sapphire usually the priciest standard phase, then Ruby, then Black Pearl, and Emerald topping the Gamma family. Among the numbered phases the value depends on the look and the knife model.
How do I tell which Doppler phase I have?
The Steam name does not show it, so use the inspect link with a pattern checker or rely on a marketplace listing that tags the phase. You can also compare the blade's dominant colors to the known phase palettes.
Why are some Phase 2 Dopplers more expensive than other numbered phases?
Phase 2's heavy pink and magenta coloring, often called the pink galaxy, is popular, so it tends to sell above the other numbered phases. Exact prices still vary by knife type and individual pattern.
What float and exterior do Doppler knives come in?
Doppler and Gamma Doppler use a capped wear range, so they only exist in Factory New and Minimal Wear. Even Minimal Wear examples usually look clean because the cap is low.
Is a Phase 4 Doppler the same as a Black Pearl?
No. Phase 4 is a numbered phase that is mostly black with blue, while Black Pearl is a separate rare special with a dark blade and a distinctive pearl swirl that sells for much more.
