Deadlock Gameplay Update: Lower Base HP, Tougher Objectives, New Investment Tiers
The May 22 Deadlock update cuts base HP by 10 on every hero, raises objective bullet resistances, and adds a 6.4k line to all three investment bonus tracks.
Valve shipped a large Deadlock gameplay update on May 22. The headline general changes:
- Base HP reduced by 10 for all heroes, and HP per boon reduced by 3.
- Objectives are tougher: Base Guardian and Shrine bullet resistance up from 10% to 20%, Tier 2 Guardian bullet resistance up from 25% to 35%, and Shrines are now invulnerable until one pair of Base Guardians falls. Guardians take more damage early (scaling resistance changed from +75% to +50% at the start).
- Midboss now starts spawned at the beginning of the game, and medium neutral camps spawn at 5 minutes instead of 6.
- Movement tuning: sliding no longer resets sprint speed, and stamina regeneration is reduced by 25% for 5 seconds after a wall jump (not triggered out of combat or when mantling right after).
- Bullet Velocity now stacks additively rather than diminishingly.
- Investment bonuses reworked: Weapon, Vitality, and Spirit investment tracks all gain a 6.4k souls line, moving from 4.8k/7.2k/9.6k/16k to 4.8k/6.4k/8k/11.2k/16k with rebalanced per-tier bonuses.
The patch also adjusts Medic Trooper healing (regen over 4 seconds instead of 2, 13% of missing HP), makes total damage reduction debuffs stack diminishingly, and carries a long list of hero and item changes; the full notes run thousands of words, so read the source announcement for your main.
