Tournament Details

Valve has officially announced the next CS2 Major Championship will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark from September 15-28, 2026. The event will be hosted at the Royal Arena, which seats over 16,000 spectators.

The prize pool has been increased to $1.25 million, up from $1 million at previous Majors. This marks the first prize pool increase for a CS Major since the transition to CS2.

New Format Changes

The Challenger and Legends stages will use an updated Swiss bracket format with best-of-3 elimination and advancement matches starting from round 3, replacing the previous best-of-1 format in early rounds.

The Champions stage remains a single-elimination best-of-3 bracket, but now features a lower bracket for the top 4 teams, giving eliminated teams a second chance to reach the grand final.

Qualification Path

Regional Major Rankings (RMR) events will be held throughout July and August across Europe, Americas, and Asia. Teams must secure top placements in their respective RMR events to earn direct invitations to the Major.

Sticker capsules for the Copenhagen Major will be available approximately one week before the event begins, following the standard Major sticker release schedule.
